5:30 p.m. (30 min) Panel discussion
Panelists: Ashman, Baum, Elmegreen, Gallagher, Harris, Zinn Possible discussion questions: - Why do the Milky Way, M31, Sagittarius, and Fornax apparently not have any `young' (populous) globular clusters, whereas M33, the LMC, and SMC seem to have a lot of them? - Where do the `young' globular clusters observed in galaxy mergers fit into the grand scheme of globular clusters? - What can account for the two epochs or globular cluster and therefore galaxy formation in ellipticals (and spirals) that is required by the bimodal populations we are now seeing? - Just how good are globular clusters as distance indicators?
6.00 p.m. End

Dear Poster Presenters:

Rather than to select five posters for the short oral poster summaries we would like to try to accommodate all of the eight posters of Session 12. Three of the organizers have therefore shortened their talks to make room for a 3-min presentation of a related poster after our talks, while the remaining five posters will be presented in the 5:15 - 5:30 time slot. Please review the above program for details. We look forward to your contribution.

Dear Speakers:

Please remember that all talk times include time for discussions. We ask all invited speakers to leave 5 min for questions and discussion after their talk. We suggest that poster presenters try to leave time for one question (1 min) after their talk. Our program is very full. Please try to keep your talks within the alloted times.

If you need any equipment other than overhead projectors please contact diana@aas.org ASAP. 35-mm projectors can be requested free of charge. You may get charged for other types of equipment such as PC projectors.

Thank you. We look forward to meeting all of you in Chicago!

Please note the thesis talk by Arunav Kundu (STScI) on Monday, May 31, on WFPC2 Studies of the Globular Cluster Systems of over 50 Galaxies.
